Ingredients For Your Chocolate Bark
- 4 squares (1-ounce each) semi sweet baking chocolate
- 4 squares (1-ounce each) white baking chocolate
- 1 ½ cups crushed peppermint candy canes or peppermint candies
- 1 teaspoon canola oil
Our Minty Bark Recipe
Crush your peppermint candies or canes into small pieces. I use a zippered plastic bag or a cereal box insert bag and a meat mallet. Some people prefer to use a rolling pin. Do whatever works for you, but make sure you protect the surface underneath the bag while you are crushing the peppermints.
Once the peppermints are ready, unwrap the chocolate squares and place all 8 of them into a microwave safe bowl, along with the teaspoon of canola oil. Turn on the microwave for about 35 seconds. Stir the chocolates together if they’re completely melted. You’ll have a nice color mixture between the semi sweet chocolate and white chocolate.
Combine the melted chocolate mixture and the crushed peppermint candies until the candies are well distributed throughout the chocolate.
Line a cookie sheet or jellyroll pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Pour the chocolate and peppermint mixture onto the foil or parchment paper and spread evenly into a thin layer. Place in the refrigerator until it has hardened.
Remove it from the refrigerator and break into bite-size pieces.
Package for gift-giving in a pretty tin or other decorative container. Store at home in an airtight container either in the refrigerator or in the pantry.
